Superman movies

Having bought the Superman boxset the other day Dawn and I have spent yesterday and today watching Superman: The Movie, and Superman II. The main reason has been to get us back up to speed on the Superman story before Superman Returns hits the cinema, but also to rekindle some old memories.
And rekindle them they did, I sat there watching the films fondly remembering some bits, having completely forgotten others.
But the most surprising fact I unearthed was during the opening credits. The screen play for Superman: The Movie and Superman II was written by Mario Puzo (amongst others), the guy who wrote The Godfather! I guess after writing The Godfather: Part II he was the writer de jour in Hollywood and got the Superman gig, who'd have thought it!

Plus of course, Jor El is played by Don Corleone himself. This comment posted by Chris

Yeah, I knew Marlon Brando was in the film, but I just assumed this was because he was a Hollywood big shot at the time. But as soon as you mention Mario Puzo as well, suddenly you start to look at things a little differently. I might even go so far as to read a little more into the history of the Superman movies, and how they came about. Interesting, init? This comment posted by Chris

Dont waste your money, keep the fond memories of Superman alive with your box set and don't damage the enjoyment you have with said comic hero.I saw the new one in Vegas last week in the Palms Imax (in 3D too).
The story line is really thin acting is very wooden and it isnt the same without Teri Hatcher playing Lois!
The Imax made the experience slightly better with great audio and a massive screen, however we felt cheated that only 3 scenes (about 10 minutes of footage in total) was actually in 3D. Not only that but they had padded some of that with sliced images giving the sense of 3D rather than true Imax camera 3D (like playing a computer game). I was more impressed with the latest computer generated movie trailer as that looked awesome with the provided glasses.

In case you forgot, Teri Hatcher wasn't in the Superman movies. I do believe you're referring to the "The New Episodes of Superman" or whatever they were called. And they don't even come close to the original movies...
Phil, I don't think there's a man on this earth who doesn't look like a puff when wearing underpants over the top of tights!

I know all this Tony, but she's really hot and would have made a much better Lois as whatever her name is is poor. This comment posted by Anthony Main

Why would I know if CHill wears tights or not Phil? I think the mere suggestion by yourself that Chirs wears tights is evidence enough that you know more about this than me? Spill it Nichols...This comment posted by Chris
