You've read and seen right, Charlotte is currently enjoying her first fake tan! Sadly it isn't all good news. Whilst Dawn got the OK to be discharged today Charlotte didn't due to her Jaundice. For the uninitiated in Jaundice (like I was a day ago) it is a condition that affects the colour of her skin giving her a yellowish appearance. This is caused by high levels of bilirubin in her body. Whilst most newborns suffer from this because there little bodies can't process it as Charlotte is pre-term she requires some help to bring the levels down. Hence the fake tan - blue light helps to break down the bilirubin. Unfortunately she has to be in there for a number of hours (12+) so Dawn and Charlotte are spending another night in hospital. Hopefully tomorrow the bilirubin will have reduced enough that she can be discharged, and then I'll finally have my girls at home! Fingers crossed.....

Update: Boo, Charlotte's bilirubin levels haven't come down overnight, so she will have to stay under the lights for longer. Which means she might not get discharged until late this evening, or even tomorrow. Boo!
